ABOUT

The Heartland Martial Arts League was founded in 1996 by Grand Masters Mike and Vicki Neiman in cooperation with martial artists from across the Midlands.

 

The purpose of the league is to provide a competitive venue for all martial arts practitioners in the Midwest regardless of their style or affiliation.

 

The HMAL organizes and promotes fair, safe tournaments and has developed a set of competition rules that reflects this philosophy.

  • Owners of South Central Taekwondo of Hastings and Grand Island, NE since 1985

  • Certified instructors and 8th Dan Black Belts through the Universal Taekwondo Association: Grand Master Soo Kon Kim of Peoria, IL

  • Inducted into to U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame and the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Heros

  • Have trainied over 200 students to Black Belt ramk includeing one Navy Seal instructor, an Air Force Bomb Squad member and an Army Self-Defense instructor

  • Founders fo the Heartland Martial Arts League and are Certified HMAL Mediators

  • Members fof the Martial Arts Industry Assoc, the Alliance and the Qigong Institute

  • Mr. Neiman also holds a 6th Dan in Hapkido and a 4th Dan in Kobudo

 

 

  • Owners of Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo of Lincoln, NE since 1995

  • Certified instructors and 6th Dan Black Belts through the Universal Taekwondo Association: Grand Master Soo Kon Kim of Peoria, IL

  • Mr. Catron is the Chairman of the Rules Committee for the HMAL

  • Co-directors of the Cornhusker State Games since 2006

  • Ms. Catron offers her experience in cardio vascular conditioning exercise science and nutrition

  • Offer a diverse background in martial arts, asian culture and history

  • Mr. Catron also holds a Black Belt in Kendo which he obtained during his stay in Japan

  • Owner of Mid-Platte Valley Taekwondo of Lexington & Cozad, NE

  • Certified instructor and 7th Dan Black Belt through the Universal Taekwondo Association: Grand Master Soo Kon Kim of Peoria, IL

  •  Offers classes in Taekwondo for students of all ages

  • Has 50 years exerience in the martial arts

  •  Inducted into the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2007

  • Founding member of HMAL
